Squarespace makes beautiful sites. You are still the webmaster.
Squarespace deserves its reputation. The templates are genuinely well designed, the typography is careful, and a Squarespace site rarely looks cheap.
That is also the trap. Beauty is not usually the constraint for an author or a consultant. The constraint is who keeps the site current once the initial enthusiasm fades — and whether there is anything underneath it doing work.
We would rather you read this and choose correctly than sign up, hit the gap, and churn.

Choosing a template means adopting the page structure its designer imagined, then bending your business to fit. It works when your business resembles the example and quietly fails when it does not.
Starting from your own description means the sitemap comes from your business, then the design is applied to it.
Squarespace gets you a site and basic contact capture. Sequences, segmentation, and funnels are either add-ons or other subscriptions.
For a coach launching a programme or a consultant nurturing referrals, that layer is where the revenue actually comes from.
Open your current site and change your pricing. Time it. If the honest answer is "I would need to set aside an evening", that is the number that matters — because it predicts how out of date your site will be next year.
No sub-accounts, no template gallery, no breakpoints. You describe the business; you approve a plan.

Squarespace is polished and dependable, with a very large support and knowledge base.
Squarespace has more mature built-in commerce and scheduling than we do today.
