About

We built this because we were the bottleneck.

A storytelling agency, 300+ client websites, years of reselling GoHighLevel — and one pattern we could not unsee.

pattern that made us build this
Chapter one

We were a storytelling agency

James Cook Media started by helping people tell their stories properly — authors, founders, experts with something worth saying. The work was narrative, not technical.

But every engagement ended at the same place: they needed somewhere for the story to live. A website. Then a funnel. Then a list.

Chapter two

So we became the people who built the websites

Over the years we built more than 300 client websites and funnels. We got good at it — fast, structured, conversion-aware.

To do that at scale we became a substantial GoHighLevel reseller. It was, genuinely, the best all-in-one available: site, funnels, CRM, email, automation, in one account.

Chapter three

And then we noticed the pattern

Every account we set up needed us to keep operating it. The software was capable. The person whose name was on the business was locked out of it.

Support calls were not about strategy. They were "how do I change the price on my programme page". Which meant the answer to a two-minute question was a scheduled call with an agency.

Chapter four

So we built the thing we wanted to hand them

A platform where the build path is a conversation with approval gates — style, sitemap, wireframes — so the owner makes the decisions and can see them before committing.

And where changing something afterwards is a sentence, not a ticket. Because that is the only version of "own your website" that is true.

The turning point

The software was never the bottleneck. We were. Every client we set up needed us forever, and we stopped believing that was their fault.

That is why the build path is approvals rather than automation, and why editing is conversational. The owner has to be able to run it without us, or we have just sold them another dependency.

What we hold to

Four commitments you can hold us to

Capability should not be the paywall

Every plan gets the AI builder and AI visibility. Tiers differ by volume — sites, pages, contacts — not by crippling the cheap plan into a demo.

Tell people when to buy the competitor

Our comparison pages have a real section on where the other product wins. We resold GoHighLevel; pretending it is bad would be both dishonest and obvious.

Ship the unglamorous defaults

Structured data and llms.txt do not demo well. They decide whether an AI assistant can recommend you. So they are on by default, including on this site.

Label the roadmap honestly

Webinars and calendar booking are coming. They are listed as coming, not as features, because a product that oversells is a product you stop trusting.

The ecosystem

Three products, one idea

Everything we build starts from the same belief: the story is the asset, and the tools should get out of its way.
